#Argentine Hosts Celac-EU Meeting on Drugs

Buenos Aires, May 10 (Prensa Latina) Argentina will host next week two important international conferences on drugs, at the request of cooperation mechanisms between Latin America and the European Union (EU).

This is the XIX High Level Meeting of the Coordination and Cooperation Mechanism of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the EU on the subject.

This mechanism is a space for dialogue and collaboration between Celac and the EU, aimed at exchanging experiences, good practices and, above all, information that makes it possible to jointly tackle the scourge, stressed the Argentine Foreign Ministry in a statement.

The XIX High Level Meeting will issue the declaration of Buenos Aires that will reflect the consensuses and agreements reached in this occasion, according to the aforementioned source.

Between May 15 and 19 Buenos Aires will also host the Annual Meeting of the Cooperation Program of the European Union with Latin America on Drugs (Copolad).

Both meetings will be held in the Palacio San Martín, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.

Copolad is a cooperation program funded by the European Union aimed at improving the coherence, balance and impact of Latin American drug policies.

The fact that Argentina is a host country and active participant in these meetings is part of one of the objectives of President Mauricio Macri when he took office, the fight against drug trafficking, noted the Foreign Ministry.
