#Barbados to Host Caricom Foreign Ministers Meeting

Bridgetown,  The Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) will meet here at the meeting of the Caribbean Foreign and Community Relations Council on May 18 and 19, said local newspaper Nation News Thursday.

Presided by Barbadian Foreign Minister Maxine McClean, the attendants to the event will debate some topics of regional interest, as part of an agenda centered in the challenges of diplomacy for the changing international panorama.

The Foreign Ministers will discuss other topics of strategic importance for Caricom, with emphasis in the trade, cooperation for the development with the United Kingdom, in the frame of the UK process to get out from the European Union (Brexit).

The Caribbean Foreign and Community Relations Council meets formally once a year, and is responsible for determining the links between Caricom, the international organizations and third countries.

The decisions coming from the meeting in Barbados, will be presented for consideration and approval in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Caricom from July 4 to 6 in Grenada.
